The game is set in a small Colorado city called Crestview. It is overshadowed by a mountain range known as "Paradise Alley" by the state parks and "The Pit" by locals, due to the fact that the mountains surround an incredibly deep mine shaft and complex owned by the Galt corporation, which is contracted to provide ore to the US Treasury. The town was obviously built by the mining rush and then abandoned, becoming outdated and forgotten. The entire town is owned and run by the Galt mining company, with the site executive Dante Tanner as the main representative. The pit is of interest for several reasons - lately, miners have found several perfectly round orbs of obsidian in the mines, as well as trace elements of many precious metals. It seems the metals will be in larger quantities further down the central mineshaft, but clearing it again could take years. The central pit was over 3 miles deep before a collapse in 1928, and has not been reopened since. The town itself is small, featuring a handful of buildings and locals.

Key locations in Crestview include the following:
Gas and Dash - a gas station (the only gas station) in the center of town on Cross Road, it is the only fuel pump for at least fifty miles in either direction. The station is run by a man named Tommy Green, an old and barrel-shaped coal worker. His parents worked the central line, and he himself works as a surface miner.

Our Lady of the Heavens - A modestly sized church and funeral home run by an older Irish born priest, Father Sean Morrisey. The church is attended by a majority of the town twice weekly - Sunday mornings for service, and Tuesday evenings for a town hall gathering. Sean is only minimally aware of the Tuesday events, as he does not attend, and as he knows only that the church is rented out.

Stagger Inn - A large, two floor tavern that was converted from the Rosewood Brothel in the early 1940s. There are three bartenders who cycle shifts at the Inn at any point and six rooms available for rent. The bartenders are Isaac Easton, a middle-aged and serious man who is a library of drinks and trivia. Second is Chris Montgomery, a younger man whose wife was recently abducted from their home outside town - his heart is not in his work any more, and he is trying to figure out what happened but nobody seems to have the answers he's looking for. Finally, there's Tara Micheals, a pretty 'farmers daughter' type and the only female bartender in town - she's smart and personable, but skittish.

Crestview Police Department - A one floor, four cell brick building that houses both of Crestviews police cars and all four officers. The sheriff is Frank Albright, a man who is very by the book. The other members of the police force are Norm Ridgewick, James Lawson, and Allen Crenshaw.

Pictures of characters will come shortly, this should be something to build around.
